Moshe Mordchelewitz - Phone Conversation
May 15, 2009

At 16:00 after completing the technical training the students returned to the lodgings and I gave them lessons in Hebrew and Zionism. Ideology and the Bible. there was a Misdar(Role Call)in the morning and in the evening after having supper. In the evening they would sing the the Betar hymnon and than they were free or went to sleep. They lived in small rooms like hospital rooms. The building ws suitable fo the kibbutz since they were 40-45 people. There was a big kitchen(hospital) for many peorple with big pots and all the appliances need to feed a large group. Your mother as the food magician. She gave the food that was left over to a farm that was raising chickens. She would receives eggs in exchange for the leftovers.
I was in charge of the storage room which was full with food and we had everything. When an inspector came to look at our storageroom, he said that we open a wholesale store.
The food was supplied by the JOINT (had offices in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich), the Germans and .. We even had case of champgne. I was at the school about a year. The school still existed when I left. I left 15.5.1948 for israel. I came to Tel Aviv. I heard that the Friday before we arrived that Ben Gurion read the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel Tel Aviv (Friday, May 14, 1948) announced the establishment of the State of Israel.. Arrived to port on Sunday (May 16, 1948). The port. was being bombed by the the Egyptian and there were casualties. I arrived on the Greek ship Pepp(or Peppi) with an entrance permit from the English. Ii was the only one at this time who came from the school to israel. I kept for years a German newspaper article from "Ein Moment" where they wrote that a lochem/fighter with the name Moshe Mordchelwitz arrived in Israel.
There was a lot of material in the school after I left the school.
